    Elks Lodge in the large meeting room where receptions and dances are held. Members will go through the buffet line in the restaurant and order as much or as little as they want and pay the cashier. Members will bring their tray into the large meeting room where the business meeting and presentation will take place.

    Program Summary: 

    This session will provide an overview to  human resource professionals on key legislation that is impacting the HR Profession, overview of the SHRM website and tools and information session on the SHRM A-Team program. 

    Bio:

    Uma Hoffmann, SHRM-SCP, SPHR is currently serving as the Government Affairs Director for the ND SHRM Council in her second term and also serves as the SHRM A-Team Captain.  Uma is the currently the HR Manager at Motor Coach Industries and has earned her Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management.  In addition, she serves on the ND Workforce Development Council, Vocational Rehabilitation Council, ND Recruiter’s Network and is the ND State Ombudsman for ESGR (Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve). 

    Learning Objectives:  

    1. How to use legislative initiatives to build strategies for potential changes  
    2. How to use resources to keep abreast of upcoming legislation 
    3. How to impact legislation through the SHRM A-Team
