This presentation will outline the steps Sanford Health has taken to become an inclusive employer and providing a sense of belonging for all of their team members.

Presenters:

DJ Campbell currently serves as Executive Director/HR for Sanford Health. In this role, he serves on the regional executive team overseeing the HR functions for nearly 3800 employees across 20 different locations in Western North Dakota. In addition, he serves on the enterprise HR executive team developing strategies for their nearly 49,000 employees nationwide. He is a senior certified professional through SHRM (SHRM-SCP) and a member of their Executive Network. He also holds the certified diversity Executive (CDE®) through the Society for Diversity along with serving on a number of boards in the community including Make-A-Wish North Dakota, the TrainND Advisory Board and the North Dakota Workforce Development Council.

Gabby Abouassaly is a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Consultant for Sanford Health. An Iowa native, she received a bachelor’s degree in human physiology, Master of Public Health in epidemiology, and Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa. She moved to Bismarck after graduation to complete a one year administrative fellowship program with Sanford Health, and transitioned into her current position in May of 2022. In her role, Gabby oversees DE&I strategy for the Bismarck region and provides guidance on the implementation of DE&I initiatives across the enterprise. She currently sits on the State of North Dakota Health Equity Committee, City of Bismarck Human Relations Committee, Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network Board, and Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra Board.
