Legislative Update
CDHRA Members
- The EEOC recently released additional guidance on accommodations for applicants and employees with cancer, diabetes, epilepsy and intellectual disabilities. I have already found them to be useful. Here is a SHRM article with links to the documents.
- SHRM Legal Report is a great resource published every other month. This issue includes articles on Pay Discrimination, I-9 audits and Telecommuting in the “cloud” era
- SHRM “A-Team” is a team developed to assist HR professionals in making their voices heard. In 2014, SHRM will be focusing on several states, including North Dakota, reaching out to recruit Advocacy Captains and team members. More information will be coming for next year.
- Be sure to follow NDSHRM on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter (links are below my signature line). I will be tweeting on government and legal related topics each week. Spread the word to your chapter members. If you are looking for more information for a chapter meeting or newsletter, etc. be sure to let me know. Thanks to CDHRA for asking me to present some information at their May chapter meeting. They are a great group and it was fun to be there.

Enclosed is information regarding the new Legislative Bill Tracking System (LBTS). This system was developed this year to allow North Dakota citizens to track and follow legislative information and to become more involved in the legislative process. Best of all, it’s FREE. To get signed up for the LBTS please go to: https://www.legis.nd.gov/lcn/council/billtracking/login.htm and either create a new ND login ID (register now) or enter your current North Dakota login ID to get started.
This ND login ID connects a variety of agencies and their online services and makes it easier for the end users to navigate the ND system. For example, this ID allows users to purchase hunting/fishing licenses from Game & Fish, purchase State Park passes from Parks & Recreation, & now sign up for the Legislative Bill Tracking System from the Legislative Council.
We will continue to keep you informed about current legislative information as best we can but hope this system will help you stay more connected with the legislative process.
